Course Description

This session identifies current evidence-based care of cerebral aneurysms and provides a review of the impact of aneurysm management. Examines the risk factors associated with subarachnoid hemorrhage, evaluation of imaging studies comparing treatment management and review of current guidelines for subarachnoid hemorrhage. Also a review of the nursing implications for multiple imaging modalities used in diagnosis and treatment of cerebral aneurysms includes a focus on vasospasm interventions and treatment.

Learning Objectives

  • Analyze the care of patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage in the interventional suite, from coiling to vasospasm treatment.
  • Apply nursing assessment, diagnostic evaluation and collaborative management of cerebral aneurysms.
  • Differentiate the blood pressure management pre and post aneurysm treatment.
